Tim Fraser Memorial Scholarship Fund

April 10, 2008

The Tim Fraser Memorial Scholarship Fund has been created through the Winnipeg Foundation and we are very pleased to announce its establishment to honour Tim's memory by providing annual awards to graduating students of the Manitoba Emergency Services College in Brandon, Manitoba.

Currently, the Manitoba Emergency Services College offers two (2) graduating classed annually, one in June and one in December with the first scholarship to be presented this coming June 2008.

Initially, one award of $1000 will be offered to a student from each graduating class who:

·                    has demonstrated academic achievement in “fire and Rescue”

·                    has exhibited the qualities that Tim Fraser possessed; dedication, hard work and love of his career, as embodied by the phrase “Serve with Passion, Pride and Courage”

·                    has successfully completed all course requirements for graduation.

Manitoba Emergency Services College faculty award committee along with a member of the Fraser family will select the appropriate award recipients according to the above criteria.

The Winnipeg Foundation will be managing the Tim Fraser Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The Fraser family has purchased a plaque in the name of the “Tim Fraser Memorial Scholarship Fund” that will be placed in a prominent public area within the Manitoba Emergency Services College and the name of the Winnipeg recipient will be permanently added to this plaque.

If you so wish, you may contribute to this scholarship in Tim’s name by making your donation payable to the Winnipeg Foundation located at 1350 One Lombard Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 0X3 or by donating online at http://www.wpgfdn.org and follow the links to “Donate Online” and specifically searching the “Tim Fraser Memorial Scholarship Fund”.  You will receive a tax receipt for your donation from the Winnipeg Foundation.  Please specify the donation is for the “Tim Fraser Memorial Scholarship Fund”.

We are very pleased with the establishment of this scholarship award in Tim’s name and feel that it will be a lasting tribute to his dedication and love of Firefighting.

Bob, Bettie, Jamie and Pam Fraser
