Walk to End Human Trafficking

Fire Fighters participated in a walk at the Legislature last Saturday to raise awareness of Human Trafficking.  They were joined by Member of Parliament Joy Smith, President Alex Forrest and other UFFW Board Members.

Fire Fighters walked in turn-out gear, but with runners allowed instead of boots and were joined by a pump from # 1 Station.

After meeting at the Manitoba Legislature we walked a 30 minute route through downtown Winnipeg, and ended back at the Manitoba Legislature.  The walk began and ended with remarks from MP Joy Smith, Grand Chief Ron Evans and survivors of human trafficking.

On Mother's Day weekend we walked to show our mothers, daughters and sisters that Canadians will not tolerate this horrendous crime against them!  Together we can stop the sale of women and children into sexual slavery!
