Retired-Active Membership

Section 11

Any member of this Union in good standing who retires from the Department may notify the Secretary in writing of his/her desire to become a retired-active member in good standing. After Executive review a recommendation regarding applications for retired-active membership shall be presented to the General Membership for majority approval/rejection at the earliest General or Special Meeting following the request. Upon approval the member shall submit annually or quarterly in advance to the Treasurer of this Union, dues at $10.00 per month. If at any time the retired-active member defaults payment, of dues for a period exceeding sixty (60) days, the member will revert to retired membership status as per Section 7 of this Article and shall pay dues in accordance with Article 15, Section 2 (a). Retired members covered by this clause shall be entitled to attend General Membership meetings where they shall have voice, but no vote.
